Soaring Bald Eagle Relief Wood Carving - "Larger than Life Majestic"

This carving is larger than Life-sized and measures 6 foot(72") wingtip to wingtip. As this carving hangs on the wall, it is approx. 70" high by 38" wide.

Larger than Life-sized Bald Eagle "Majestic"
The pictures you see are of my 5 foot version because I have yet to carve this new design in this larger size. This version will be the same design and look very similar to the 5 foot one. First 3 pictures are the finished carving. I included some in process pictures as well.
Process:
This is an original relief wood carving that I designed and will carve in my studio. I carve everything by hand with power tools. I will glue up nine pieces of kiln dried Pine wood for this eagle and then carve it as one piece. Using separate pieces of wood for the body and the wings I can design it in a way that the grain of the wood runs with the feathers, etc. to make a much stronger piece.
On this carving, much of the coloring and shading is burned on by hand(last picture shows what I burned). I then hand painted on lightfast yellow pigment colors for the beak and feet. On the head and tail, I hand painted a primer and then a final top coat of white acrylic paint. This achieves a brilliant white that will not become yellow over time.
The back of the carving is flat for wall mounting, and I attached a metal flush mount hanger for a nail or screw head. I also hand signed my signature and year on the back.
Preservation:
After burning all of the details, the wood is sealed, and then I hand paint stains, and then brushed on a coat of exterior grade U.V. resistant Spar Urethane with a "satin" sheen. Finally, I hand painted a primer and then acrylic paint on the head and tail. This wood carving is however intended for indoor use. If you want to place it outdoors, I recommend brushing on a few more coats of Spar Urethane/Varnish.
